Why is Yahoo search not working?

For the last several days I've not been able to search anything from the search bar on Yahoo. When I type something in and click on search it just goes to a page that says "UNABLE TO CONNECT" Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at search.yahoo.com.. Well okay so I thought is this a problem with Firefox or is it my computer or my internet connection or what? So I tried to do the same thing from Yahoo on Internet Explorer....not happening there either. Got a page that says "Internet explorer cannot display the web page". In addition it has a on to click on that says Diagnose Connection Problems. So I did and a box comes up and it says Network diagnostics for Windows XP. It also says that no problem could be found with the internet connection. Got the same page and message as described above. So then I went to Google and typed in the search and Bingo! I can do anything else on Yahoo just fine. I can access my email or go to any links on the Yahoo sight but I just cant search for anything. As I said this just came about in the last few days and I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or better yet knows the cause or the solution to it. Oh by the way I just tried searching something on Bing and it works perfectly also. I've done virus scans and that does not solve the problem. Please help "cause this is kinda' frustrating.
