I need an example from american history that will add to this poem!?

How about George Washington, did he win freedom from the British single handedly? Or Lincoln, did he maintain the union without help? Or could Henry Ford have built his automobile empire without the workers in the steel mills. Could the railroads have spanned the nation, and the golden spike been driven in the last tie plat Promontory Summit , Utah if not for the work of the men who laid those ties?
